Ensuring Safety and Efficiency: WIND Prepares for Cable Load-Out to “Giant 7”

At WIND, safety is paramount.

In preparation for the first cable load-out to the crane vessel “Giant 7” later this week, our experienced team has performed a Site Acceptance Test (SAT) in cooperation with the Boskalis and Ningbo Orient project teams for the Dong Fang Haigong 07 cable transport barge, at our dedicated cable storage yard in Amsterdam.

The purpose of the SAT is to ensure that the barge meets all the functionality, usability, safety and security requirements for the safe and efficient transfer of cables.

On behalf of the Boskalis/Ningbo Orient consortium, we will be responsible for the operational management of the barge in the coming months. This will involve multiple vessel-to-vessel cable transfers to both crane vessel “Giant 7” and cable lay vessel “Ndurance” and all related services during the barge’s idle time between the load-outs.
